Computing (Hardware and Software)

On recent days we have been learning about computing and we have made a presentation of Hardware and Software and we learned about Drive, Box, Prezi and Libre Office.

Summary for the Hardware and Software presentation

+Hardware:
The set of physical or tangible components that can be found on a computer (We can say that hardware is made of RAM, ROM and peripherals)

-CPU: CPU (Central Processing Unit) is like the box that contains all the components, it processes, interpretes and executes data.

-RAM: RAM (Random Access Memory) is used for OS and programs. Itlooses all data when powered off.

-ROM: ROM (Read Only Memory) is used to store data but only to read it, it is very difficult to delete it and does not loose the data when turned off.

-Peripherals:
*Input: The computer receies data from them (Mouse, Microphone, ...)
*Output: The computer sends data to them (Screen, Printer, ...)
*Storage: The computer uses them to store data (USB, SD Card, ...)

+Software:
It is the set of programs, procedures and data that form part of the operations of the computer. There are two types: Base and Application software.

-Base Software:
Related to the processes that try to unlink the user and the memory processes, discs... If it is saved in printed circuits it is called firmware. It is related to OS, device managers, servers...

-Application Software:
It allows the user to carry tasks such as programs, games, explorers... (Microsoft Office, Libre Office, Chrome, Mozilla...)

Here you have the link to Prezi's presentation and the presentation for Libre Office and Microsoft Office and you have also a PDF version:

I hope you will enjoy them.

What apps do I use more in my smartphone?

Hi again!
I wanted to do a "trending topic" that many people is doing and is: WHAT APPS DO I  USE MORE IN MY SMARTPHONE?
First of all I have to say that my phone is an LG G2 and I am very happy with it, for me is perfect.
Let's start!
-Pixel Battery Saver:
A very useful app to save battery that, basically, turns off a cuantity of pixels of your screen, it is very useful for moments where you need to use your phone but without wasting so much battery.
-My Data Manager:
I think it is the best app to control your data plan, it shows data, wifi and roaming and estimates how many MB are you going to use. You can also program alarms.
-Strava & Runtastic Mountain Bike:
Very good apps for those that ride their bikes to make routes and control haw many kilometers have you made, I use them every time I go with my bike.
-Aliexpress:
I am a fan of shopping in China, although it takes a month to arrive, the objects are very cheap and I think that Aliexpress is the cheapest market.
-Splive Player:
The best for watching TV on your phone or tablet, it includes public and private TV!! Totally recommended!
I have to say that it is not on the Play Store so you will need to download it from internet.

Those are the most usefull apps that I have appart from WhatsApp, Facebook and soon...
I think it is OK for today, so have a nice day!!

LDR Project

The aim of this project was to create a circuit with an LDR and a Par Darlingtong that changes the active component between night and day.
My friend and me decided to make a heliport which, during the night turns the lights on and during the day turns the lights off.
I think the project was good, simple but well done. The teacher decided to give us a 10.
There you have a photo, a video of the project and the summary:

-SUMMARY-(LDR PROJECT)-
-Objective:
The objective is to make a circuit using an LDR and a relay, by which a motor, led… etc. that works during day and does not during night.

-How does it work?
The LDR allows electricity to pass when there is light; it activates the “Par Darlington” and excites the relay so that the LEDs get off.

-Materials:
We have used LEDs, an LDR, a relay, a 5v power supply, a 10K potentiometer, two transistors, a resistance, wires, a tupper and wood.

-Building process:
1st we made the circuit on a plate of wood and checked it.
2nd we painted the tupper and the “H” on the wood.
3rd we have built the project assembling the parts.

-Conclusion:
We have enjoyed this project because is the first time we make a project using an LDR and transistors and a relay and we have liked it because it is like an “automatic” project.

-Circuit:

Welcome!!

Hi people,
Welcome to my new blog where I will write about projects and works of the Technology class.
in the next days I will write about the latest work that I have made: An LDR circuit...
